Christmas Crack
Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes Total Time: 20 minutes Servings: 24 pieces

Ingredients You’ll Need

35-40 saltine crackers
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a 10×15-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray generously with cooking spray.
  2. Lay the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, whisking constantly. Bring the mixture to a boil and let it bubble for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.
  4. Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the saltines, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee. Let the chocolate sit for a few minutes to melt, then use a spatula to spread it evenly over the surface.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the melted chocolate.
  8. Let the Christmas Crack cool at room temperature, then transfer to the refrigerator or freezer for at least 1 hour to set completely.
  9. Once hardened, peel off the foil and cut or break into pieces. Serve and enjoy!
